...a tiny friend

A friend here recently passed on a request her daughter made…a doodle of the tooth fairy. I was immediately in because I very much believe in fairies. So I explored what I thought she looked like. She probably wouldn’t need eyeballs if she worked in the dark. And she’d probably decorate her outfit with human teeth. And her shoes would be made of hollowed-out molars. And she’d carry a shadow of night around her in case someone flicked on a light. And that sounded kind of terrifying in theory, but I actually sort of think it works?

And in other news, I finally made it to the post office and found dozens of lovely postcard-sized art pieces waiting for me and it is making my whole week. If you have one you want to share, send it to me. Next year I’ll have a tiny art showing at Nowhere Bookshop where everyone is invited and anyone can pick up a tiny art piece from a stranger. And I’m keeping the envelopes of people sending things in because if I have pieces left over I’ll be sending them out as little surprises.
