This morning I was in New York filming the Today Show where I managed to talk about explosive diarrhea, fears of my foot falling off, apologized for using my hands too much, sat on them, promptly pulled my hands back out bc I can’t talk without them and then made all the anchors put pencils in their mouths…all within about 4 minutes.
You were fab! Great frock, too. I've never watched this show, but you are the only fully realised human person on that sofa. The presenters are all a little weird-looking, kinda Barbie and Ken.
I am always so astounded by the things you manage to accomplish. So very proud of you.
Also, I wish you would come to the Phoenix area. I've been to your bookstore. It's absolutely lovely. Now I need a hug from you and I'll be able to check off the Jenny part of my bucket list.
I better watch it again, I always miss the special things, like explosive diarrhea. It was all pretty special really, tho I was nervous for you. I watched with my teenaged neighbor then showed her some pictures you’ve posted over the past few years. She wants to check out your books, which she can borrow from me anytime. I showed her pictures of your bookstore. She’s getting a terrible English education especially. Maybe we can get her to love reading. It was a fun day thanks
Always ask if you can, and then pet the horse. Never give up the opportunity to feel the velvety goodness of their noses and be close to such a mighty presence.
I was at a birthday party for my wonderful friend today and she surrounds herself with the most delightful people who are able to be their quirky selves and it made for one of the happiest parties I've ever been to. Just a bunch of people being unabashedly themselves and loved all the more for it.
We've got tickets for New Hampshire and I am so excited and ridiculously anxious at the same time and then my husband reminded me that I'll be among my people there which then unlocked a new fear because those same wonderful people will also want aisle seats too because anxiety likes to sit where it's easy to escape when one is feeling trapped, and there are only so many aisle seats. We need more aisle seats in the world.
You are going to love New Hampshire. Even in mud season it's glorious. :)
I laughed so hard at this comment! It's like I wrote this myself. Aisle seats for the win! I'm an aisle seater at church services, theaters, concerts etc. Also I don't want to bump someone I don't know by accident, and if I do I'll feel bad about that and embarrassed for the rest of the night. I'm going to her CA stop and I feel the same way you do. My husband said the same thing to me (word for word) that your husband said to you. He also expressed the same sentiment to me before for the No Kings protest yesterday....and the one we went to before that LOL.
Everything sounds super exciting and … a lot! And it’s so amazing you have another book coming out and are doing all the things… but honestly I’m most impressed by the kind of restraint superpower you have to not pat the horse when it would standing right there being all horsey! 🐴 Anyway, have fun, stay hydrated, and thanks for being so awesomely weird!🙏
We are in Lancaster, and spent part of the afternoon taking my son to see the fsh fsh fsh at That Fish Place. They have little bitty rays to say hello to and pet. They also don’t mind how much you move your hands.
Thanks so much to Pamela for posting the link to your Today show interview. You were fabulous! And, having a book banned is the ultimate compliment in this current world. You go girl!
You are an absolute treasure. ✌️ ❤️ 🐧, and big congrats on having a banned book! That is a bucket list item for me. I thought Known Order Girls would do it, but very few people have read it. Maybe one day. Good luck with All The Things. I love your drawing. I love being lost; it's never not exciting 🙃
I really needed to hear about a fellow weird going through the worst weird right now in the weirdest way
Have the BEST time!!!!! Everyone is so lucky to meet you. PS. We super crazy love you, too! 🥳😘

I don’t mind sitting in the middle so maybe we’ll end up in the same row and you can know that I’m not secretly trying to steal your aisle seat.
And I promise to move quickly out of the way if you decide you need to walk around a bit. :)

I love your musings. We are here with you and supporting whatever state you’re in. It’s all good.
