I currently have one of those colds that vacillates between “Actually I think I’m fine” and “My bones are made of broken glass and I might have died in the night” and so - unsurprisingly - my drawing this week was about dealing with the bullshit of owning a fragile, tricksy body. I sent a picture of it to Hailey and asked them which of the phrases that I was considering writing on it was best and they recommended “GIVE ME ALL YOUR CRUMBS” which was not a phrase I was considering at all, but is now the name of this drawing because how do you say no to that?
“FRAIL AS BIRD BONES. BUT STRONG ENOUGH TO FLY.”
You may be dealing with bullshit as well, but remember…you are stronger than you think.
Please feel free to leave your best cold remedies in the comments. Sending this from my floor as the room has started spinning in a most unhelpful manner.
Friends forever,
Jenny
My best cold remedy: spending so long trying to remember if it's "feed a cold starve a fever" or "starve a cold feed a fever" that my cold is gone by the time I get it right and I no longer need a remedy.
I love your drawing! When I have a cold, I drink tons of hot green tea. I also like a 50-50 mix of seltzer water and orange juice. And sometimes hot ginger tea - grated fresh ginger with honey and lemon to taste. (You can use powdered ginger if you don't have fresh.) I also sleep a lot. Hoping you feel better soon ... ❤️
