So. This last week I was trapped in covid isolation but I still managed to draw something.
It was a sketch of a photograph from my friend Gabi Blair and I was using a technique for the sky that I picked up from a Laura Perea drawing. It worked well until I got out of isolation and Hunter S. Thomcat decided that he would attached himself to me permanently.
And every time I tried to draw he’d crawl on me and swat at the pen, and that’s why there’s a weird line of birds on the drawing, because it was the only way to cover Hunter’s artistic attributions. Ah, cats.
And speaking of Laura Perea…did I tell you her story? The mystery of her strange and haunting art from her years in a mental institution that I found at an estate sale…and the fact that she seemed to just vanish?
Well, she didn’t vanish and I just uncovered some amazing news. It’s not a perfect resolution, but honestly it’s so much better than what I had feared. Details are on my blog.
Hugs, Jenny

Wow! I just read your blog post and that is amazing news! Thanks for doing the sleuthing Jenny, to uncover more about Laura Perea, an artist whose work I'd like to know better. I cannot wait for an update once you learn more!
