I would absolutely sign up for "drawings of wolves prowling inside your house and eyeless women screaming blindly into the raging wind," just fyi

Same. I have dreams like that, too, and you're right--getting it out of your brain onto something visible is HUGELY cathartic.

You are a light at the end of a very dark tunnel for a lot of us. Thank you for that!🩷🩷

Love everything about this, including the wolves and eyeless women.

I especially like this line: “After all, humanity is a group project. (And we all know how fucking hard those can be.)” So true. 💜

Jenny, I want to see the rage and the howling. That’s how I feel too. You can put it after a trigger warning if you want, but I think a lot of us would find , if not comfort, then maybe catharsis in the darker stuff. I super crazy love you too!!

Thank you.

I've used the word "fuck" more than once in a title here without issues.

I can't be the only one, but I sign up for the dark, not anyone's specifically but dark enough to hinder comfort. Just saying

You hit the nail on the head again. Right?! Just don’t be a dick. How hard is that for people? And I agree with some of the other comments, I want to see the drawings of wolves and creepy eyeless woman. I live for horror. I think it’s because I can control that when everything else feels out of control.

I don’t know if you have heard of Anthony Bourdain or not. He was a professional chef and wrote a few books and had a travel show. He was a really down to earth guy and his main thing was that food connects us. One of his rules was, “don’t be a dick”. Seems like it should be fairly straightforward, right? Check him out if you have a chance. He was one of the good ones.

I love this! When my kids were in grade school they called the repetitive moral lessons "Don't be a dick lessons." It amazes me how many young people forget those lessons as they get older.

We are your people friends. We like dark and weird. I wish we could all hunker down in a bunker for four years. Eat junk food and watch scary movies. All pop out like a clan of hibernating bears when it’s time to vote again.

So would I! I've created some pretty dark stuff lately, but fortunately I'm starting to do more fanciful stuff on along with it now.

I love the way the roofs look (Why isn't the plural rooves? like hoof and hooves?) Having the ALL crosshatched would be too much. Shingles look different from house to house, which I had never really noticed until we had to get a new roof.

Thank you, Jenny. Just knowing you’re out there in the world makes me feel a little better. Are you working on a new book? I might have to go back and reread an old one otherwise!

don’t be a dick is literally my internal mantra whenever I have to deal with people. It’s also what I told my nieces the real secret to life is.
