💙thank you. I needed this today. Just a faceless Fed trying to hold the line. Feels so dark right now. A reminder to keep going. Beautiful timing.

We're right behind you, cheering you on. I'm sorry it's dark and am just so grateful you're able to still be there. It means so much. Thank you.

“I misplaced my ADHD meds because I have ADHD.” 😂 Same, girl. You’d think some science person would have thought this through.

Exactly! Some kind of homing device… I got it! We buy those tags that track things and then find them with our phones! But that would cost a fortune with the number I would need. Sigh…

we would also have to remember where our phones are!

A constant struggle!

I love you, too. You’re magical, and I love all of your art. You’re the creator of all things lovely in my world.

This literally made me cry. Thank you, friend.

Awe, you’re so sweet. You have the most beautiful soul. I wish I’d known this before. I was afraid to be myself because of how I’d been hurt and you were, too. And look at how art has been so healing.❤️‍🩹 Keep creating. You’re damn good at it.

A bunny put in an appearance in my yard this weekend. Everytime the poor thing hopped forward they landed in 3 feet of snow they had to dig themselves out of, but they perservered and found some nice treats. Snow will give way to mud season (it always does, even if you think it'll be winter forever) and that same bunny will be nibbling at the hostas in a few short months. Your art is the thing we hop to each week, it's a reminder to keep our own art going too - no matter what tries to trip us up as we make our way there.

Thank you for your bravery of sharing and sending you Kindness and Love

And a shout out to Helen Conway for sharing “The process of loving kindness mediation” [First you send that love to a person to whom you don’t know well but have no ill feeling towards even if they are really unknown to you – the woman who drives your bus today, the new subscriber to your Substack, the mailman. Only then do you send that loving kindness to the person who is challenging you, provoking you, making you miserable. Finally , because it is the hardest things to do of all, you give that loving kindness to yourself.]

Have a beautiful day

Lisa

I think the heart button used for 'like' in Substack should say Love! A thumbs up is Like in my icon lingo opinion. Yes Jenny, this made a great big difference to my day (now night here in Spain) in many ways, as do all your drawings and notes when they plop in my box. Big fat purr, from another mad cat lady, luckily no ADHD, only old age, which also makes me lose (misplace as I like to say) things in the fridge too xoxo

There's this song I wrote back in 1988 in high school to try to comfort myself and i keep coming back to it over the years revising it in bits and pieces and it keeps ringing true and hurts that it's still needed. Every time I write it out I change one little bit. And it always feels right for that moment.

Little one you can cry

I've shed those tears and sighed those sighs

I've felt your sorrow and I know your pain

I've walked that path where our tears have rained.

But don't give up, please, don't give up.

Somewhere a new day has begun

Somehow we'll find our bright tomorrow

and share our day in the sun

We share the fate of a thousand years

of tomorrow's sun

and yesterday's fears

days slip by you

running with the wind

somewhere, somehow a new way must begin

So don't give up, please you can't give up

Somewhere a new day has begun

Somehow we'll find that bright tomorrow

and share our day in the sun.

There really needs to be a greeting card with "I'm so glad you found your meds."

Thank you for all the smiles you bring. I needed them.

Thank you Jenny and we super love you too! Your post reminded me of two things: Masquerade by Kit Williams - a picture book about how the Moon and Sun were in love and sent messages to each other via a rabbit, but in reality the entire book was a clue to where an actual gold and jewel encrusted rabbit artwork was hidden in the world - and also it reminds me of notorious character from the “Wild West” in the early 1900s named Charles Lummis, who founded museums and was the nations first blogger maybe? But also he held a birthday party for himself every March 1 and the theme was “mad as a March hare”. A party I would really have loved to attend!

I really love the fade from black to white in this. Really sets the "looking for the light" mood. (💜to you too.)

I'd blame my husband's dog. Not that she could do it. But getting rid of me so she can have her to himself is feasible.
