Doing my best to focus on the good things right now, knowing that what's coming next will be a trial.
Also, I don't view your work as just "doodles;" it's wonderful, inspiring, intricately drawn art. Just because you don't use oil on canvas doesn't make it less compelling or meaningful. I mean, look at Piet Mondrian. He was a master, and he painted some lines and some primary colored boxes. The true measure of art is the connection it creates with its creator and its viewers (and sometimes between the two).
I totally agree with you about Jenny's art being a level of artwork well beyond doodling. Although, my personal take on this, in order to get my shy little inner critic onboard, is that using the word "doodles" helps to convince her that what we're doing is play. And then I have to convince another part that always thinks anything I do is not good enough to put out there that we have to do it anyway and think of it as being bold and exciting! It basically has the same physical responses as being scared, right?
Beautiful words and gorgeous art for a really hard day, thank you so much. I'm on the verge of tears without consideration of the day being the start of another four years of the orange turd's sh*t show, because my darling husband, my life partner for nearly 51 years, is in surgery now (knee replacement). He's going to be fine, and I'll have my hands (and mind) full of caring for him over the next few weeks, which will help. But it is hard to care so deeply about others and our country right now. I will keep your words and art close, to keep me grounded and hopeful. Thank you so much.
"Protecting your fragile heart can be an act of rebellion." And holding that fragile part of your being, while letting it know who you are now, how grateful you've been for that protection, and showing it what you can do together will make those acts of rebellion possible. We got this! Thank you, Jenny.
Thank you! I really needed to hear this today. Some days it is hard to have all the feels, so I am avoiding most news and focusing on friends & family & love.
I love your art. I love your messages of hope and love. I love you and this group of my kind of people. I carry your light with me during this dark sad day.
the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it <3
Thank you, and Amen.
Amen.
This made me cry because it is exactly how I am feeling. Thank you! I'm going to go take a nap now.
Haha! I totally get the "take a nap" part. It's the one looking for a way out—"What do I do with all this emotion?" Such a sweet part.

An important message for us all today, Jenny. Thank you for sharing it.
Perfect. Thank you. Listening to the Indigo Girls today to be the light. And knitting silly things.
Thank you for this.
