My inquiring mind neeeeeeds to know. Do you use a stencil to draw your circles, or are you just that bloody good at it? All those circles are perfection. I also love drawing circles, but mine are always very wonky. In my mind, when I start out I envision mine looking likes yours, but they never do. Might need to get a circle stencil. I remember my dad had one growing up and I loved sitting at his drawing board and just tracing a bunch of circles all over a piece of paper.

I use one of those plastic stencils from the dollar store. If I'm doing something larger I just trace cups or bowls. They say that the mark of true artistic talent is drawing a circle free-hand. I do not have that kind of talent.

True artistic talent is knowing where to put the circles. Being able to draw them freehand is just good draughtspersonship.

Thank you, I need to know too. It's a proper Technical Art Question, after all.

you don't even need a stencil you can just use a glass/ramekin/any other small cylindrical object you have lying around! lip gloss containers! deodorant! try everything!!! I can't speak for Jenny but I don't know of any artist that can draw a perfect circle on demand

That’s absolutely true, and I also believe that drawing a perfect circle freehand doesn’t make one an artist.

Yes, I also need to know if Jenny draws her circles free-hand.

Also, this was such good news to hear. I've had the weekend from h-e-double hockey sticks but it's nothing comparatively as I'm healthy, thank goodness. But I needed good news even if it wasn't about my selfish ass.

A good reminder about the process being more important than the final product. I'm currently cutting out more hand-drawn heart shapes, using up paper scraps, because I find it soothing and easy with all the craziness that's been going on in my life. I'll run them through my sewing machine later to make garlands but for now I just need to cut out the shapes. My son graduated high school on Friday and then I picked him up from the emergency room in the wee hours of the morning after the senior all-night party. All the lead up to a great thing and then a scary thing right after and then a big gathering the next/same day. (He's doing okay.) So I'm just trying to decompress with an easy creative activity. I wouldn't even call it a project.

Too much stress...even good stress...is hard on the mind and body. Sending love.

Thank you. And I did want to say that I felt guilty for not acknowledging your awesome news. Hooray for only that tiny bit of cancer! . . . Which also feels so wrong to say. . . . But I'm glad for your good news. And moving is the worst.

Breath in. Breath out. I crochet granny squares and scatter them around in unexpected places. Watch it when you grab a jalapeño lemonade.

I, too, love circles! I collect washers off the streets, and bottle caps (like Bert from Sesame Street) before Fallout made it cool.

I'm so glad you got good medical news! And yay for settling into the new place! Hope the good just keeps coming.

Beautiful news with beautiful artwork, love to see it. Congrats on lazy cancer! Let's hope that it stays sloth-like forever. If I had my way, I would. So, maybe it should be like me? Aim low. <3 Be well, wonderful stranger.

Yay a lazy body is the best kind of body! This is great news… for everybody but especially you!! I mean this is science. I hope your doctor encouraged chocolate, reading, binge watching TV, lying on a floatie in a pool with sunshine and naps with furries. This sounds like lazy 101. Sending lots of happy hugs!
