This week I was struggling a little and thought I’d draw the personification of anxiety, and so I sketched out a monster lurking in the dark and frozen woods, but then I was like, “NOPE.
“No more monsters this week” made me snort. I always picture my anxiety as a monster…I love the bunny instead.
This week I wrote about People Pleasing and how I use it to keep others from feeling uncomfortable. I think maybe I could use some fanged amoebas to keep myself safely in my own headspace!
Hi Jenny, I’m a new Substacker, so still very much finding my feet. As a result yours is the very first I’ve posted a comment to - I couldn’t help but respond to the lovely way you unpacked your thought process behind your latest illustration. I love how art - and the constructions and execution of it - can be so organic.
After watching a series of your drawings, being a different way to draw clouds, sky, flowers, ocean, I find you are quite talented. I hope the drawing brings you peace every day. Whatever your life was in the past, hope you enjoy every present moment and let go of worry, sadness, or any past that drag you down. Just let you know, your drawing inspires me. I used to draw then switch to paint then switch to digital painting. As the tool offers layers, it’s easy to remove layer i don’t like and re-do that layer. I see your depth, pattern, framework of your drawing. Sooooo talented. It inspires me to switch to drawing now. By the way, the digital app I use is called “Tayasui”. Regarding the dark side, there can be unlimited if you choose to stay in the dark. But with your awareness, you know you can look out and look up, there is sunny side. Only when you have that awareness. Practice on day to day basis, hope you will feel better.
Lol, refocus, weirdo, will be my mantra this week. Love you, Jenny!
Great. Anxiety is like a shadow, but not like the shadow made by solar light. Its a shadow from within

I loved following the swirls of leaves as much as the vibes
Definitely love this vibe!

Wow!
The dynamic structure of the leaves... I can see them moving in the wind. I can feel them growing. This is beautiful.
Would that I could be a rabbit in a tree filled with books
how content I could be
It sounds like you had quite the creative journey this week! Sometimes, our initial ideas take unexpected turns, but it's all part of the process.
Yes! And my favorite part is that you gave the rabbit just a little whiskey. (In case of emergency.)
I love that the bunny gets a tiny glass of whiskey. 💕
All those tense little whorls of leaves... perfect!
I love your tree (and the story behind it of course)... I'm currently also very much into trees...
I love the journey through the creation of this piece - it’s a story within a story. 😁
Amazing :)
This weirdo thanks you for everything you do.
